Dr. Kathy is the president and CEO of Business Empowered Mississippi. Kathy along with her husband Joe is currently the National Titleholder and reigning Mrs. Black America Sr. 2019. She is the co-founder of Turning Point Fellowship Ministries International and executive director for Turning Point Community Development of Mississippi. Kathy is an author, certified coach, speaker, and trainer with the John Maxwell Team. Kathy's 15+ years of experience as a senior pastor and a coach give her the leverage to connect and add value to spiritual leaders as well as marketplace leaders. Having honored over 250 men and women in the past five years,  Kathy has been recognized throughout the state of Mississippi by city, state, and governmental entities as the women who honor others.  She is the wife of Joe R. Amos, founder of Turning Point Fellowship Ministries International. Together they share the parenting of 15 children and 33 grandchildren. They are well known in the community for their servant leadership in hosting the annual "Blessing Canton Week", a citywide transformational revival created to bring souls to Christ and bring together churches of all denominations and community leaders. They have given more than $2000.00 to the City of Canton, MS in efforts to help families in need. They have also donated hundreds of dollars and school uniforms to underprivileged students in the Canton Public School District. Her philosophy is "Everything rises and falls on leadership". -John C. Mel and Mona Ponder began Business Empowered with a vision for impacting business leaders and individuals to exemplify and advance the Kingdom of God in their workplace and community through Godly principles.

They each have over 20 years experience in owning, managing and operating businesses, and have a keen understanding of the unique challenges and lifestyle demands business people face. They have worked with Fortune 500 companies, achieving national recognition for results. In addition, Mel has 8 years experience in government, which furthers his understanding of today’s business challenges. Most importantly, Mel and Mona each possess over 12 years of ministry leadership. This combination of experience in both ministry and the marketplace makes Mel and Mona Ponder uniquely qualified to provide vision, leadership, and expertise to help Business Empowered Members improve their results and impact their communities.

Mel and Mona are actively involved in church and community, and have served on the Board of Directors for multiple Ministries. They have been married for 27 years and are raising 3 children in Northwest Florida.

Joseph & Kathy are known a the power couple who loves the Lord and his people.  Dr. Joe has been in ministry for the past forty-one years. He has trained, equipped, licensed, ordained, and commissioned many leaders to function in their God-ordained office and ministry gifts.  Together they have 65+ years of expertise in ministry and business. They travel from city to city and state to state spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, teaching, coaching, training, and equipping marketplace leaders through a City Calling initiative, SOMA Coaching & Consulting, LLC and Business Empowered. Their passion is empowering others to fulfill their God-given purpose and equipping them to make disciples of men.
