Joe & Kathy Amos
The iBud (International Black Urban Development) Foundation is a private foundation established to aid in funding and providing resources to black owned businesses in urban cities and communities around the world.
Kathy Amos, Founder/President struggled and fought as an entrepreneur and minority black owned business woman with little to no support. For many she would start her mentoring program and in less than two years she would close the doors due to lack of funding and resources. There were some years where her successes were won at rock bottom through her faith in God and the power of prayer. And having watched many budding black owned businesses struggle to startup, get branded, incorporated and legally established as an upright thriving business in their community was all too familiar. Kathy had the honor and privilege of coaching many black women filled with aspirations of owning their own businesses and becoming successful entrepreneurs. Some were even ready to leave their secular jobs to start their new venture but often times they simply couldn’t afford to quit.
This is why the iBud Foundation is so vital. There are men and women around the world who struggle like Kathy and are determined to be successful in what they believe is their God-given purpose. When you partner with us, you're making an impact on both our economy and a budding business. Perhaps it could possibly be a seed in manifesting your own vision.
Our vision for iBud is to incubate small black own businesses for one to three years until they’re fully able to function as an upright business in good standing with their community and their state. The iBud Foundation will offer the following:
1. New Business Startup Capital through Grants & Scholarships
2. New Business Startup Coaching & Training
3. A Branding Program
4. Grant writing Classes
5. Computer Classes
6. New Business Startup Formation
7. Business Proposal Classes
8. 5 & 10 Year Vision Planning and Goal Setting Program
We’re in the stage one process of laying a good foundation for iBud and is currently not opened for giving or accepting grants or scholarships. We will keep you updated on this page when funding is available and to what cities and states they’re available to.
We have started our fundraising journey to accrue funding for new startups. Our projected goal is $40 million by the end of 2021. The Best of Mississippi Awards is our first fundraising effort. The proceeds for this event will go to the iBud Foundation. Go to The Best of Mississippi Awards page at
